More Than Soccer: Connecting Young Hearts to the Gospel in Chinandega
Hope Soccer Academy | Chinandega, Nicaragua
At Seeds of Hope Foundation, we believe that even the simplest activities can become meaningful opportunities to share the love of Christ. Through Hope Soccer Academy in Chinandega, Nicaragua, our desire has always been about more than soccer. We want to build relationships, encourage young people, and create opportunities for them to hear and understand the Gospel.
Recently, we were encouraged by a special opportunity to connect the children participating in Hope Soccer Academy with the church plant in Managua that Seeds of Hope has begun supporting.
This connection represents an important part of our vision: bringing together youth outreach and faithful local ministry so that the relationships we develop can lead to meaningful spiritual conversations and continued discipleship.
During the gathering, the children heard a biblical message about glorifying God. They were encouraged to consider how our lives, including the things we enjoy doing, can be lived for God’s glory.
As Scripture reminds us:
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)
This is a powerful truth for young people to understand. Whether they are playing soccer, studying at school, helping at home, or spending time with friends, every part of life presents an opportunity to honor God.
The gathering also included a practical blessing for the academy. New soccer equipment was brought for the children to use and share, helping provide additional resources for their activities.
While these resources may seem simple, they serve a greater purpose. Soccer creates a welcoming environment where friendships can develop, trust can grow, and conversations about faith can take place naturally.
But our ultimate hope is not simply that these children become better soccer players. It is that they come to know Jesus Christ, understand His Gospel, and grow through relationships with faithful Christians and local churches.
We are especially thankful for the opportunity to strengthen the connection between our youth outreach in Chinandega and the developing church ministry in Managua. These relationships reflect the kind of collaboration we hope to continue encouraging through Seeds of Hope.
We believe that lasting ministry is built through faithful local relationships, the proclamation of God’s Word, and a shared commitment to serving others in the name of Christ.
As we look ahead, we pray that Hope Soccer Academy will continue to be a place where children experience encouragement, friendship, and opportunities to hear biblical truth.
We are grateful for those who pray, give, and partner with us to make these opportunities possible.
We plant. We water. God gives the growth.
